Dialed terms of use and community rules

Using Dialed

Dialed helps you work out how to brew a bag of coffee. The recipes and grind settings it suggests are starting points based on rules of thumb, not guarantees. Taste and adjust. You use the app at your own risk and are responsible for brewing safely (hot water and equipment can burn).

Community accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Community.
• You sign in with an Apple or Google account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Community, then Your account, then Delete my account). This removes your account and everything you posted from Dialed's server. Recipes that other people already saved to their own coffees stay on their phones.

What you post

• You keep ownership of what you post. By posting publicly, you allow Dialed to show it to other Community users in the app, and on a web page that anyone with a share link can open. Other Community users can share a link to your public post and save its recipe to their own coffees.
• Only post things you are happy to share, and that are yours: your own recipes, grind settings and notes about coffee.
• Posts and café reviews marked "Only me" are not shown to other people.

Community rules

Be kind and keep it about coffee. Do not post:

• spam, advertising, or links (links are blocked);
• harassment, bullying, hate, threats, or sexual or violent content;
• anything illegal, dangerous, or that breaks someone else's rights;
• personal information about other people, or pretending to be someone else;
• photos you did not take, or photos in which a person can be recognised without their permission. Café reviews should be honest and about your own visit, and not paid for or written by the café's owner or staff.
• trying to push a café's rating, "Helpful" count or specialty answers up or down, for example with several accounts or by asking others to. Answer questions about a café honestly, from your own visit.

Reports, blocking and removal

• Every public post and café review has a ⋯ menu to report it or block its author. Blocked people cannot see your posts and you cannot see theirs.
• Reports are reviewed by the people who run Dialed. A post or review that several people report is hidden until it has been reviewed.
• We can remove posts and suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, without notice. Removal decisions are ours.

Our responsibility

Dialed is provided "as is", without promises that it will always work or be free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the app or from what other people post. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted at this address with a new date, and continuing to use Community means you accept it.
